The Challenges

We were appointed to implement Workday, an HR management system, across the organisation. The project covered 14 countries and three companies, including two service-based organisations and one manufacturing business, and involved more than 7,500 employees.

What We Did

We were appointed to coordinate the pharmaceutical company’s internal teams and the systems integrator, Kainos, as part of the global programme.

• We advised the client throughout the programme preparation and design phases, ensuring that its strengths and areas for improvement were appropriately considered.
• We provided robust programme and project management, with a focus on delivering a high-quality solution within the agreed timeframe.
• We conducted clear assessments and recommended actions to address identified issues.
• Working closely with the client and the systems integrator, we established a strong delivery team and fostered a delivery-focused culture.

Results

The primary benefit of the implementation is that the client now has a global HR system. This enables the organisation to manage its sizeable workforce more efficiently and to access employee data more easily across each country and business unit. Previously, compiling this information could take several days. The implementation has mitigated a significant organisational risk and provided the infrastructure needed to support future improvement initiatives. Additional anticipated benefits include increased productivity, the retirement of legacy systems, improved data quality, and reduced attrition rates.
