Job description

We are working with a client in need of a qualified Program Manager for an engagement opportunity at a global manufacturer of high-performance materials. The company is in the midst of launching multiple initiatives to help transform the business.

This role is responsible for the delivery of the most complex, enterprise-wide, and strategic group of projects. This role is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and acts as the single point of contact. The contractor will effectively manage a group of projects under the program and will be accountable for its successful delivery. The Program Manager manages project managers/workstreams comprised of cross functional teams responsible for delivering project outcomes on time, within budget, and with quality results.

Project Length: 12 months plus

Location: Remote (90%) as well as on-site (Philadelphia)

Responsibilities

  • Provide complete Program Management oversight on assigned projects / workstreams in reference to managing cost, quality, and schedule in compliance to specifications and commitments.
  • Responsible for implementing governance framework by establishing an oversight group and guiding principles to ensure standardization, consistency, and compliance.
  • Plan, organize, monitor, and oversee a program of one or more enterprise projects to meet defined requirements and/or business specifications.
  • Responsibility to take projects from original concept through final implementation; working closely with IT and Business leaders to guide efforts toward achieving intended business outcomes.
  • Provide strategic direction and build cohesiveness across project and program teams.
  • Provide project updates, milestones, and challenges to senior executive leadership.
  • Proactively identify changes in work scope and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken with all stakeholders to reassess and/or amend the scope of work, budget, and timeline.
  • Responsible for vendor and procurement management process related to the program.
  • Maintain a high level of quality in project management processes and deliver all required project artifacts including but not limited to:
    • Project Charter
    • Project Plan including a comprehensive Work Breakdown Structure
    • Risk, Action, Issue, Decision (RAID) Log
    • Status and Steering Committee Reports
    • Project Closeout and Lessons Learned Register
  • Collaborate with System Integrator project managers to develop, maintain and ensure adherence to an integrated project plan.
  • Conceptualize and develop project documentation and communicating documentation to key stakeholders on regular basis.
  • Proactively manage risks, oversight, and resolution of significant issues and/or concerns that may be detrimental to success of the strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate negotiations between stakeholders and sponsors around scope and priority.
  • Oversee technical components of RFI/RFP process, as needed.
  • Ensures system design aligns with business process design.
  • Manage vendor relationships as part of projects.
  • Responsible for project specific supplier, contract and budget management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years’ minimum experience leading large scale SAP ERP implementation projects including design, configuration/development, testing, deployment and operate phases.
  • 10+ years demonstrated project management skills including ability to plan, schedule, organize, coordinate, manage, evaluate, and adjust resources, work effort, and cost for projects of high complexity and risk.
  • 6+ years of SAP implementation experience in Chemical or Process industry.
  • Intimate knowledge of ERP processes including but not limited to Procurement, Order to Cash, Supply Chain, Record to Report, Planning, Manufacturing, Master Data Management, and Product Life Cycle Management.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple complex projects involving ERP business transformation to meet stated business goals, budgets, and objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP technology and business processes, SAP experience is required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration and communication abilities.
  • Expertly manage extremely complex and high-risk multi-year projects or programs, leveraging cross-directorate resources and capabilities, and effectively managing stakeholder interactions in an agile environment.
  • Extensive experience in leadership and management oversight to very large and/or highly complex projects and programs with exceptionally high visibility with sponsors and impact.
