Job description
Our rapidly growing consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant & Business Analyst with expertise in regulatory technology and compliance analytics. The ideal candidate will support our emerging Regulation Technology team which works alongside our Financial Crimes Advisory group assisting clients in the design and execution of various regulation technology implementations, testing, tuning, and calibration of key BSA/AML, Sanctions and Fraud systems. These include transaction monitoring, sanctions filtering tuning, above the line/below the line analysis, identification of trends and patterns, model validations including DFS 504 certifications, and suspicious activity model design and refinement. The ideal candidate can work with large data sets to ensure that Compliance teams have the necessary information available to support policy development and decision-making.
This includes understanding regulatory requirements, applying them to financial services business models, designing systems, incorporating data effectively, and ensuring the effective execution of programs. This will also include creating and executing the periodic and ongoing tuning methodology for monitoring systems.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with clients to understand their regulatory compliance requirements and design solutions to meet those needs
- Develop advanced SQL queries
- Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to assess and mitigate compliance risks
- Enhance data quality and controls to support compliance and risk management efforts
- Provide strategic guidance to clients on compliance best practices and regulatory changes
- Develop, implement, and update compliance management systems, policies, and procedures based on new or updated regulatory requirements
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of compliance dashboards and reporting systems
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in the compliance space
- Identify gaps or risk exposure in operations and implement all necessary checks-and-balances and risk assessment reviews
- Effectively analyze situations and apply experience and judgment to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, technology, and business stakeholders, to ensure successful project delivery
- Assist with data mapping and writing of technical documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Law, Compliance, Analytics, Computer Science, etc.)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory technology, with a focus on data analytics and risk management
- Advanced knowledge of SQL required
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data analytics tools and techniques
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills to communicate risks in an effective way to all levels of seniority
- Flexibility in changing directions based on business demands
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance best practices, such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.
- Ability to think strategically and provide actionable recommendations to clients
- Familiarity with data privacy laws and security standards is a plus
- Experience in contract analytics is a plus
- Understanding of data mapping and technical documentation writing is required
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

California Compensation Information:
California compensation for this opportunity ranges between $122,000 and $125,000. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, and market location.

Hybrid Workplace Guidelines
Sia Partners maintains its hybrid workplace arrangements and provides a flexible workplace environment that is driven by client and business/market needs. While our firm does support hybrid work, there are times that we may require our consultants to work onsite at one of our Sia offices or a client office full-time. Consultants are expected to have the ability to be flexible with work location depending upon business needs. When in-between client engagements, Consultants typically work onsite at a local Sia office 2+ times per week.
