The Energy Fundamentals Bot offers its users the ability to compute an optimal energy mix for a given territory within the 2030 horizon and to quantify the associated missing money for flexible power plants.

How it works – Using optimization algorithms and machine learning methods

This bot uses first-rate optimization algorithms and machine learning methods. Users are allowed to quickly and easily modify a variety of input parameters, such as fixed and variables costs of production technologies, storage capacity of the network, or the renewable targets of the area. The bot's output include details on optimal installed capacities per energy sources, a prediction of the energy generation mix on an hourly basis for the year 2030 (ensuring the balance between supply and demand at every hour of the year for a minimum societal cost), and a quantification of the missing money for flexible power plants and the corresponding cost of a capacity payments mechanism.
