Job description

Our talented consultants enable our Financial Services Industry (FSI) Business Unit to deliver a myriad of business transformation solutions to our clients. The FSI Business Unit has led and managed projects for top-tier, global clients ranging from strategy, target operating model design, regulatory governance and remediation to technology transformation, program & project management, and business analysis. We have experience providing these solutions to clients within their Sales & Trading, Risk Management, Finance, Treasury, and Operations & Technology functions.

This role will report into the Financial Data Solutions team and be responsible for defining and operationalizing governance over Sia Partners’ clients, particularly using internal and corporate tools such as the central data warehouse (enterprise service bus). The Senior Consultant will be responsible for helping businesses implement data solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, clients and development teams. 

Responsibilities: 

Consulting Skills  

  • Client delivery as part of an on-site or remote project team  
  • Assist service delivery teams in analyzing client specifications in terms of new and/or existing data domains 
  • Demonstrate the capacity to plan assigned work and identify priorities/interesting parties of the project/assignment, conducts regular points of progress 
  • Present complex ideas, critical points and decisions required to team members and client contacts, including middle and top management  
  • Manage, organize and prioritize work activities & assignments to achieve deadlines while communicating effectively with clients, internal stakeholders and leadership  
  • Perform simple and complex research and business analysis to solve for customer business challenges/issues to present unique, tailored solutions utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data  
  • Utilize higher-level methodological concepts to prepare client deliverables utilizing tools like PowerPoint, Excel, Access, MS Project and Visio, designing key deliverables for projects and supporting other consultants in the production of their deliverables  
  • Collaborate with internal and client project team members, and contribute to internal communications and readiness activity within the program team and with client groups 
  • Provide status reporting of progress, dependencies, issues, risks and overall program health  
  • Responsible for the work streams of a complex project and takes the lead on simple projects  
  • Document business requirements and translate into detailed data specifications 

Business Expertise Skills 

  • Support practice, thought leadership, and people development activities firmwide 
  • Cultivate knowledge related to a specific business challenge, issue, or deepen understanding within a sector and function domain 
  • Share experiences related to business issues and demonstrate a capacity for knowledge transfer amongst peers and junior staff  
  • Design and implement business changes that drive transformation, functionality, and performance 
  • Partner with our clients to help them develop high performance solutions to advance their operational performance industry standing 
  • Lead cost efficiency programs 
  • Collaborate on change management during the implementation of a new data domain 
  • Assist in the formalizing of the data stewardship, standards, procedures and quality control 
  • Contribute to architectural design documents and deliver the data migration strategy, data quality rules and other detailed deliverables in accordance with client specifications 
  • Assure the coherence between data features and related PBIs (Product Backlog Item) to the new data domain 
  • Coordinate the process to obtain final approval for data features and PBIs. Clarify roles and responsibilities for each data domain including determine the data custodians, data providers and stakeholders 

Business Development Skills 

  • Write business proposals and presentations autonomously  
  • Detect, trace, and qualify business opportunities  
  • Relay information relevant to new business activities and prospects to manager, team, and business unit/line leaders 

People Management Skills 

  • Supervise a project team internally and on client assignment 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required Finance, Business Management, or a related field from an accredited college/university is required 
  • 2-5+ years of recent client facing management consulting experience, particularly in the capital markets industry 
  • 2-5+ years relevant experience managing or creating project deliverables in a consulting environment, with broad experience in management consulting and/or 
  • 2+ years spearheading projects related to transformations in Financial Services industry (retail banking, insurance, wealth management, capital markets, and etc.) 
  • Experienced in delivery of a wide range of Financial Services solutions, maintains deep understanding of the industry and its challenges. 
  • You possess strong client relationship development and client management skills 
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) accompanied by strong interpersonal skills 
  • Solid organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills 
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to know when to escalate and when not to. 
  • Eagerness to be involved with internal initiatives and interest in guiding and leading.  
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting 
  • Flexibility in approach and a willingness to adapt quickly and take initiative when working in unstructured environments with limited supervision 

Bonus points if you possess any of the following: 

  • Master’s level degree from an accredited college/university or other additional certifications warmly welcomed 
  • Experience using Power BI and preferably other visualization tools (Tableau, etc.) to enable dynamic dashboarding 
  • Experience (3+ years) with Data modeling, ETL workflow management concepts, and using data integrations tools 
  • Experience and knowledge of Project Management principles and methodologies 
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) 
  • A certification in one of the following strongly preferred: CAPM, PMP, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, Business Analytics, Data Science, and/or Change Management

Compensation for this role is between $116,000 and $119,000. 

Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, and market location.
