Migrating 49 HR Workflows With AI at Design Time

Sia helped a telecommunications and media company safely migrate 49 critical HR reconciliation workflows from a legacy platform, using AI-assisted design with deterministic Python execution for reliable, auditable, analyst-owned operations.

Context

Many finance and HR teams rely on low-code analytics tools for critical reconciliations. Retiring such a platform under time pressure is risky: the new solution must be reliable, auditable and owned by the analysts who use it.

A leading telecommunications and media company had to move its compensation, benefits and payroll reconciliation workflows off a legacy analytics automation platform.

Client Challenge

The company needed to:

  • Retire its legacy platform for HR reconciliations under tight timelines.
  • Build and prove the solution in its own environment.
  • Migrate 49 workflows onto a platform the analysts can own.

What Sia Did

Sia designed an LLM-assisted workflow migration based on a Sia-originated architecture:

  • Deterministic reconciliation: deterministic Python did the reconciliation; the AI layer operated at design time only, with zero model calls at run time.
  • Human approval: a business owner described a change in plain language, an AI coding assistant drafted the code and the test, and a person approved it.
  • Secure cloud setup: running on cloud application, messaging and serverless services, with managed identities and no embedded credentials.
  • Cross-practice support: design and build support from Sia's Data & AI practice.

Results & Outlook

The solution was proven in the company's own cloud environment ahead of the planned retirement of the legacy platform.

By using AI where it adds value and deterministic code where reliability matters, Sia helps companies modernize critical workflows safely.
