A Listening-Led Strategy for a Care Organization

Sia helped a leading Australian not-for-profit care organization shape its 2030 vision through broad stakeholder engagement, translating shared insights into a clear enterprise strategy, business-unit priorities and a practical roadmap for launch.

Context

When a care organization sets its direction for a new strategic cycle, the strategy needs to be grounded in input from the Board, leadership, staff, partners and consumer advocacy groups.

A large not-for-profit care organization in Australia, with 17,000 staff across its hospital, aged care and community services, needed to refresh its organization-wide strategy and 2030 vision, along with the direction and priorities of each business unit.

Client Challenge

The organization needed to:

  • Refresh its organization-wide strategy and 2030 vision.
  • Set the direction and priorities of each business unit.
  • Ground the strategy in broad consultation across the Board, leadership, staff, partners and consumer advocacy groups.

What Sia Did

Sia ran a three-phase process, from listening to launch:

  • Explore: exploring the current state through Board and leadership interviews, management focus groups, staff and partner engagement, and trend and financial analysis.
  • Deep dive: testing strategic options with the Executive and Board, benchmarked against peer organizations.
  • Plan: setting priorities and launching the strategy.

Results & Outlook

The work was designed to deliver:

  • A corporate strategy document and a four-page summary, plus refreshed strategies for each business unit and corporate function.
  • A one-page roadmap and a communication plan for the organization-wide launch.

By combining strategic rigor with genuine stakeholder engagement, Sia helps health and care organizations set a clear, shared direction.
