Job description

We are seeking a Managing Director, Technology Strategy & Transformation to lead and grow our presence within the heart of the Puget Sound technology ecosystem. This role is ideal for a senior leader who understands the nuances of technology-enabled business transformation, especially within organizations influenced by cloud, AI, digital platforms, and enterprise software. You will be responsible for shaping strategic direction, driving revenue growth, delivering high-impact client outcomes, and strengthening Sia’s reputation with C-suite leaders in the technology sector.

Why Seattle Matters

Seattle is a leading global technology hub driven by world-class innovation, a deep bench of technical talent, and the presence of major enterprise and cloud players (including Microsoft and Amazon) alongside a thriving startup ecosystem. The region has the second-largest tech workforce in the U.S. and one of the strongest clusters of AI-specialized talent nationally.

This creates a unique opportunity for transformational consulting that aligns technology strategy with business outcomes — and a competitive market for leaders who can engage and grow relationships within this unique landscape.

What You’ll Lead

Business Development & Strategic Growth

  • Define and lead go-to-market strategies specific to Seattle’s technology ecosystem, including:
  • Cloud and enterprise software transformation
  • AI and automation value realization
  • Digital product and platform innovation
  • Technology operating model transformation
  • Build and expand a sustainable pipeline of new business by leveraging deep relationships and insights across technology buyers and decision-makers.
  • Secure significant new revenue streams and own attainment of key financial metrics.

Market Presence & Thought Leadership

  • Act as a public ambassador for Sia in the technology community — speaking at events, participating in industry forums, and shaping thought leadership that resonates in tech-driven markets.
  • Elevate Sia’s brand as a go-to advisor for digital strategy, AI adoption, cloud-enabled modernization and organizational transformation.

Client & Delivery Leadership

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for technology and digital transformation engagements with executive leadership at top-tier tech companies and enterprise buyers.
  • Drive measurable client outcomes by shaping strategy, overseeing delivery quality, and ensuring commercial excellence.
  • Maintain a compelling presence in high-value client engagements, balancing strategic advisory and hands-on contribution.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and develop senior managers and partners, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and ongoing professional growth.
  • Build and retain high-performing teams capable of delivering on client expectations and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • This role is focused on generating net new revenue by identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities in the Seattle technology market. It is not primarily an account expansion role.
  • Deliver active client roles while maintaining billability targets tied to revenue contribution.
  • Champion technology-centric consulting offerings that span strategy, data, AI, cloud, and transformation.
  • Represent Sia in executive forums, build networks with technology leaders and influencers.
  • Lead recruitment, development, and retention of top talent in the Seattle market.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 15+ years in management consulting or technology strategy delivery with a strong track record of leading technology engagements and growing revenue within tech or tech-enabled clients.
  • Sector Depth: Deep understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS), enterprise software environments, and AI/automation frameworks that shape modern business strategy.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated success in originating and closing complex consulting engagements, and in building trusted executive relationships.
  • Leadership: Strong executive presence, ability to mentor senior teams, and a reputation for developing talent and fostering growth.
  • Local Network: Based in or willing to relocate to the Greater Seattle area with an established local professional network and credibility with Pacific Northwest technology clients.
  • Advanced Degrees: MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Proven visibility in the technology community through public speaking, conference participation, or published thought leadership.
  • Experience driving cloud and AI-led digital transformations with measurable business outcomes.
  • Credibility with technology decision-makers at large enterprise and cloud innovators.

Why Join Sia
