Job description

Our talented consultants enable our Financial Services Industry (FSI) Business Unit to deliver a myriad of business transformation solutions to our clients. The FSI Business Unit has led and managed projects for top-tier, global clients ranging from strategy, target operating model design, regulatory governance and remediation to technology transformation, program & project management, and business analysis. We have experience providing these solutions to clients within their Sales & Trading, Risk Management, Finance, Treasury, and Operations & Technology functions.  

Consulting 

  • Client delivery as part of an on-site or remote project team   
  • Demonstrate the capacity to plan assigned work and identify priorities/interesting parties of the project/assignment  
  • Present to team members and client contacts the main ideas, critical points and decisions required to be made, demonstrating a capacity to lead within teams  
  • Manage, organize and prioritize work activities & assignments to achieve deadlines while communicating effectively with clients, internal stakeholders and leadership   
  • Perform research and business analysis to solve for customer business challenges/issues to present unique, tailored solutions utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data   
  • Utilize intermediate methodological concepts to prepare client deliverables utilizing tools like PowerPoint, Excel, Access, MS Project and Visio   
  • Collaborate with internal and client project team members, and contribute to internal communications and readiness activity within the program team and with client groups  
  • Provide status reporting of progress, dependencies, issues, risks and overall program health   
  • Participate in the work of one of the functions tracks of a project or in a PMO   
  • Maintain program sites as a repository for all project information  

Business Expertise 

  • Support practice, thought leadership, and people development activities firmwide  
  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the issues related to the business unit/line, including a knowledge of recent topics/industry trends  
  • Participate in the sharing of knowledge and experiences within the firm, acting as an active member with internal knowledge-share oriented activities and organizations   
  • Share experiences related to business issues and demonstrate a capacity for knowledge transfer amongst peers and junior staff  
  • Design and implement business changes that drive transformation, functionality, and performance  

Business Development  

  • Relay information relevant to new business activities and prospects to manager, team, and business unit/line leaders  
  • Participate in business development activities such as identifying and qualifying business opportunities, networking and relationship development, and preparing, coordinating, and developing pitches and proposals  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Business Management, or a related field from an accredited college/university
  • 7 years relevant experience managing or creating project deliverables in a consulting environment, with broad experience in management consulting and/or in Financial Services Industry (retail banking, insurance, wealth management, capital markets, and etc.) 

Primary skillset should include: 

  • Firm understanding of requirements for back-end development inclusive of financial modeling and development of complex calculations
    • E.g., Monte Carlo Simulations, stress testing scenarios, mathematical modeling 
  • Strong BA skillset and experience operating in BA process flow
  • Documenting requirements via user stories, flow charts, Excel, etc. 
  • Ability to manage teams, communicate with on-shore & off-shore partners, and ability to communicate business objectives
  • Interfacing with the squad, participating and leading grooming sessions, helping the squad on a day-today basis
  • Working through impediments and communicating impediments with the Product Owner 
  • Validating production code and testing 

Secondary skillset should include: 

  • Experience with Financial Planning or has an awareness of retirement planning concepts 
    • E.g., types of retirement & tax-deferred accounts and their benefits 
  • Experience with stock options or has an awareness of different types of options
