Job description

One of our premier clients is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of IT to lead our IT department in supporting our transformative Digital Technologies program for our Water business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT leadership, application management, and digital transformation initiatives. This role will be instrumental in driving technological advancements that enhance operational efficiency, ensure compliance, and promote sustainability in water management.

Project Length: 12 months with potential to hire

Location: Hybrid, with 25% travel expectation to Boston, MA; Paramus, NJ; Milwaukee, WI

Compensation: This role will compensate between $105-$110/HR-W2 or $130-$135/HR-1099 depending upon years of experience, education, and relevant certifications. 

Responsibilities

  • Report to: Domain CIO, with dotted line to Regional Business Presidents
  • Major Areas in Focus are Strategic IT Leadership, Digital Transformation, Application Management and Governance, Cybersecurity, Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Lead and oversee the IT department program initiatives, providing strategic direction and guidance in alignment with both business and IT objectives.
  • Develop and implement IT strategies and relevant applications that support the Water Business, leveraging digital tools and human expertise to optimize water processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify IT requirements and prioritize initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and sustainability.
  • Oversee the requirements, design, development, deployment, and maintenance of digital solutions, ensuring each meets the evolving needs of the business, while aligning with industry standards.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives, including the integration of advanced analytics, IoT technologies, and machine learning algorithms to enhance decision-making and predictive capabilities for business counterparts.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, security, and privacy of data collected and processed within the Water Technologies program.
  • Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data, systems, and infrastructure from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party partnerships to procure IT solutions and services that support program objectives effectively.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to IT staff, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in IT leadership roles, with a track record of driving digital transformation initiatives and managing complex IT projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of application management and governance principles.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies relevant to water management and sustainability.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive consensus on IT strategies and initiatives.
  • Experience in the water industry or environmental sector is a plus.
