Job description

What You’ll Do 

Financial Crimes is one of the largest systematic risks facing financial institutions today.  Sia Partners has experts in Compliance, Technology and Investigations that specialize in helping financial institutions satisfy their regulatory obligations and reduce their exposure to Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist Financing, Sanctions and Fraud.   

With respect to Sanctions, we assist in determining how sanctions regulations impact the financial institution, developing and delivering targeted training, and evaluating sanctions filtering systems to determine that they operate optimally to identify prohibited individuals and entities and minimize false positives.

Responsibilities 

  • Guide projects and manage relationships with key accounts 
  • Lead business development and proposal efforts 
  • Summarize and present findings to project managers and clients 
  • Collaborate with engagement/client team to deliver high-quality work products 
  • Apply strategic and critical thinking to develop recommendations that address client challenges 
  • Manage team of resources to ensure deliverables are provided on time 
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues 
  • Project manage and/or support on a range of client delivery, as part of an on-site or remote project team 
  • Manage program sites as a repository for all project information 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree a plus)  
  • 4-7 years of global sanctions compliance experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with OFAC, UN, and other global sanctions regulatory guidance 
  • Understanding of sanctions risk regarding financial technology and the payments industry, and how controls are used to mitigate such risk. 
  • Familiarity with global payments and associated transaction alert reviews 
  • Experience with SWIFT 
  • Familiarity with global sanctions investigations and oversight 
  • Strong working knowledge of financial services businesses, risk management, and project management disciplines 
  • Familiarity with digital assets and cryptocurrencies (a plus) 
  • Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented, organized 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging 
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior leaders 
  • Based in San Francisco / Bay Area

California compensation for this role is between $122,000 to $125,000 per year. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, and market location.
